Sounded too good to be true from the beginning and too much of a "get rich quick" scheme.I guess I just expect more from my friends and would hope they had every good intention when it came to my personal business, especially my finances.Well, that is a shock but I have reaffirmed my original belief and now with the help of yourself and @Neal Collins I have potentially avoided a landmine.Thanks so much for your contributions.

The internal obstacle of my belief that no one would take me seriously until I had closed at least one.  

Otherwise, you can stay and Maryland and use the local team you already have ... it is my belief and experience that a skilled REI operator can consistently make money locally in any market in the USA.

I don't like to get involved in political threads (wasn't a member of the Politics Group and won't be for long, but saw that Bill @mentioned me)...Here's my thoughts on this issue and the logical flow behind them...I'll number the bullet-points so that people can chime in at the point where they disagree so that we'll know exactly how far our beliefs are in agreement and where they diverge (maybe we're closer than we think):1.

The VERY first phone call I ever got when I started working in this business was a woman who went up and down both side of me screaming "How did you get my name and address...blah blah and my house isn't for sale...blah blah" and I calmly stated foreclosure is public record and her name was printed in the paper....the silence was sweet for me, but when I hung up my heart was POUNDING...I hated that call and never forgot it.One kind gentleman was drunk beyond belief and called me the "C" word, and if you're not a woman, you can't believe the impact that word can have...I was in shock and after was seriously ready to change my phone number until I realized all these people aren't really pissed at me, but their own messed up situation.

It certainly doesn’t mean that the situation or belief is unworthy and I certainly don’t use it to ridicule...

My personal belief is that until one can direct mail to thousands a month, the more specific and personal the letters the better the response rate will be.

They're often under capitalized, lack knowledge, lack a proper business plan, and have been grossly misguided in the ease of getting started.
