@Dave Spooner I think people may be leaving the Northeast for a few reasons:Harsh winters, since temperatures and snow can be intense in the region.Job availability is another factor since many companies are avoiding the region.The Northeast is also home to many cities with a high cost of living, making housing affordability challenging, especially as people lose their jobs.

@Daniel FelixMy advice to to speak with a licensed HVAC tech and have them come out and check current temperatures in each room with existing unit, as long as it is still operational.

One of the hardest parts of the whole process, besides not having power in below freezing temperatures for 3 days, has been choosing to sell or hold and rent this delectable piece of real-estate.

I am in a similar market temperature wise and basically November through January are very slow rental months.
