I figure my time is better spent learning something new, or learning more about something I'm already familiar with.Some of the real estate shows I listen to are:- Real Estate Today- The Real Estate Guys Radio Show- The Real Estate Investor Show (aka Lifestyles Unlimited)- The Norris Group Real Estate Radio ShowI also listen to the following shows, though they're primary focus is not so much on real estate:- The Clark Howard Show (a great all-around show with advice on investing, travelling, consumer news and scam alerts, etc)- The Dave Ramsey Show (primarily focuses on getting out of debt - I don't agree with some of what he says, but a lot of it does make sense)- My Power Podcast (features various motivational speakers such as Zig Ziglar, Napolean Hill, Dale Carnegie, etc)I'm sure there are lots of others out there, but these are all at the top of my list.

The turnout seems to be best when they have a featured topic or speaker.

Our launch was Tuesday night, and having some experience with lowered attendance and lack of interest in conventional REIA's, I was hoping to top 100 people, because of our commitment to no selling speakers, similar to the Bigger Pockets model of no selling speakers at the Summit.

We are located in Long Beach and we have a steady calendar of great industry speakers, such as Bruce Norris.

Tony Robbins and other motivational speakers have addressed this in speaking about congruency.

The issue is people are sloppy with the terms so focus on the speaker to understand what they mean.John Corey

Shortly after that I was invited to be the featured speaker at a local Real Estate Investment Club, I had a half page article published in a local newspaper and I have made a ton of contacts.

Listen carefully-the speaker may clue you in which ones they have had problems with.

But tonight at our local REIA, the speaker made a comment about how real estate investing really is a business.
