If you're not careful it will leave little grooves in the wood where you start and stop.You should only need this if your existing floor is an old lacquer finish.

1/4 inch underlayment over tongue and groove hardwood will not provide sufficient rigidity required by ceramic tile.

All ceilings, stairways and the game room bar accent wall are tongue and groove pine.
