My theory is that more families and professionals stay here for longer trips instead of 1-3 people seeing a concert, game, etc. for one night. 

There is also the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) which hosts concerts and shows.

It has all the vacation check boxes ticked: Skiing, Lake (Winnepesaukee, the biggest in the state), Bank of NH Pavilion (concert venue), Hiking, Foliage, Maple Syrup season, Pumpkin Fest, Bike Week, etc ,etc.

Sort of like going to a Metallica concert and wanting hear Beyoncé songs.

Purchased a Single Family Home (SFH) in Hamilton, Ontario with the plan the concert it to a Duplex.

In the past 5 years, New restaurants, cafes, bars, art galleries, breweries, yoga studios, concert venues and other interesting stuff seems to be springing up around the Poconos more than I've ever seen. 

Being able to go to school concerts and teacher meetings, etc.

Instead of bad reviews, I would find the guests in the backyard watching the construction as if it were a concert or show.

We wanted a change of pace and picked a fancy new apartment high-rise in a different neighborhood (we picked a building called Hub50 House, which was right next to the TD Garden and the North End - lots of activity because we rented during Celtics and Bruins playoffs, and walking 100 feet to a Who concert certainly didn't stink!)

A very nice draw here in the summer months with great beaches, the strip, restaurants and a few concert venues.
