I did go to one of their meetings but it seemed like alot of the speakers they were bringing in were the gurus or get rich quick type of people.From being on Biggerpockets and talking with other real estate investors in our area, it seems most people are self educated, researched and tried their hand at real estate.

He hosts weekly meeting and they will have great guest speakers and such.

I also understand that not everyone is a professional speaker, and it's the knowledge and experience of the guest that is most important, and not their grasp of grammar.

I would like to put a local group together where we can discuss real estate and even possibly have speakers to discuss things that can benefit real estate investors or those interested in the real estate business.

The meetings for the river valley is at coltons steak house in van buren (33 access road) this is on hwy 59 also know as fayetteville road and just south of I 40 we always meet the 3rd thursday of the month and will be having a meeting this thrusday april 20 just tell the host you are with the group in the back. we get there at 6 and network and 645 we do business and speaker is around 7if you need any info please callWe have all different types of people and real estate business that show up and there will be newbies to experienced so please come and get some knowledge

What I am thinking is we buy a 3 flat somewhere on the outskirts of Chicago and put the 25% down and we may have something left to do a FHA househack as well, but not sure of the chances of getting 2 mortgages in the short period of time that is required with the 1031 exchange.After a recent meetup and listening to a speaker about commercial real estate now I am thinking we could possibly buy a 6 unit or more in a C class neighborhood possibly and I do like the sound of that. 

There is a FREE landlording meeting this Thursday, May 26th, at Tommy's Pizza on Dublin-Granville (between Sawmill and Riverside) that features education (a Q&A session geared to newbies for general real estate investing and landlording as well as a featured speaker) and networking and has a good mix of newbies and experienced investors.
