Of course the big part of the lien is the daily fines which can be eliminated After the root cause of the violation has been corrected.This usually takes at least a few weeks after the problem is fixed, inspected/verified by code enforcement and a hearing is scheduled to determine the actual amount that has to be paid.

Doubtful that there would be any Federal agents rooting around in your attic, but if somehow your tenant's or a neighbor's pet (or child) were to ingest some and die, you could be in trouble were they to trace it back to you.
