Not skid row.North Hollywood is not just gentrifying, it is getting densified, if that is a word.Big apartments going up and "SFR's" that are 6 inches apart with a metal critter barrier between units.

Then take them to storage.. the Wolf range in my personal home I bought on sale ( 8 years ago for 4600)  its a monster one 60 inch with double oven and infrared on top  sat in my airplane hanger all these years until I installed it a few months ago..

Which was on a pretty flat lot without trees in the building box.I just started this same building on a lot that is not flat, and had a lot of scrub overgrowth trees in the 1-4 inch range on a good portion of the lot.

@Hugh Ayles- As J and I have been alluding to during our [frankly hilarious] back and forth...The problem is that the firms that you and I would consider 'real' contractors have a practiced, learned, and managed approach to every part of the business... we have our means and methods, and have learned the hard way to RUN if someone (ANYONE) wants to tell us to do things differently.The 'contractors' that everyone in this thread are talking about are less like 'real' firms and more like the direct-labor subcontractors that you and I might hire individually [and then manage within an inch of their lives.]

The top of the windows come with a vinyl cap that you fill with fiberglass insulation and then you can easily adjust it up or down to make up for those fractions of an inch (and significantly more if needed) for the height of the opening.

It will avoid that batt insulation (which is usually poorly installed anyways) and escape your house during the winter and enter during the summer through the wood studs, which only offer a R-value of about R-1 per inch, whereas cellulose or fiberglass insulation has about R-3.6 per inch.

She really hasn't budged an inch, and my impression is she and her company are deceitful and take advantage of out of state investors because she has total control through her management and rehab team on the ground.
