I've had several HVAC units and coils stolen in the past, back doors and windows broken into even while the unit is occupied, and pipes along with wires stripped out and sold for scrap.

I drew a little dart-board on a piece of paper and taped that paper to the to my metal desk.

Impact windows, hurricane strapping, metal roofing, etc all go a long way on saving insurance dollars. 

Gave it new all new siding, new electrical panel and 60% new wiring, a metal roof, paint inside and out, a mudroom, gourmet kitchen and a pantry.

Replacing coil burners and drip pans are routine "consumables" that do not count when considering replacement of the unit.

This will be a small space in the mountains with a very custom boutique type feel of lots of different wood and metal finishes.Thanks,Chris

I am going to remove the cabinet the old range sits on, but I am trying to decide if I should just replace the countertop or cut it and bend some sheet metal or something at the edge where it meets the stove.

I had been using the Tramontina pans, but people always seem to use metal on them and the surface gets ruined in no time.
