There's a severe privacy and security issue with your request.If you proceed with the idea, which clearly is possible to create on a website, you need (besides the normal website resources) a Secure Socket Certificate and have it installed on you Privately hosted (not a shared  hosting site so commonly used) and it will cost annually ~$100 per year extra.You can not use free  services to get the Certificate or to install it.BTW: this IS THE WAY TO GO for scaling B&H operations.

If it is a privacy thing that you and your wife don't want strangers over, then don't rent that room out or just continue renting it to family and friends.If you are worried about your safety when your tenant brings guests over, you might want to reevaluate how you screen tenants.
