We arnt married we are postponing our wedding untill we have enough to buy the duplex. been together for 4 years so we are pretty sure. she doesn't live with me due to cultural differences she has to stay living with family untill she is married. so it's only me being subjected to this mess.

It’s funny how the mind works when it comes to fear and what our cultural beliefs are .

I dislike a lot of cultural norms of this country, the one I hold in deepest contempt is complacency, followed closely by ignorance and the general cheapness and selfishness that consumerism has bred into us.  

The cultural experiences are so rich when we travel on a budget.

One time I was riding the train and I sat next to this older Irish gentleman.

Here I can feel comfortable surrounded by like minded folk, who are moving at their own pace and want to be successful and make money.It is also very enlightening and comforting to me anyway, to see so many different cultures and ethnicities represented here on this platform, and we are all here with pretty common goals, learn, network, interact and if we are lucky we also get to help someone out.Stuff can get crazy out there, I hate reading the news and listening to bi-partisan discussions about today's issues or non issues made into issues.Here it is peaceful, we all want to better our lives, interact and have successful investments! 

Perhaps it has something to do with our nation's culture of overindulging in everything they can get their hands on??? 

Also, it may be interesting to have tenants that are certain professions or backgrounds and cultures that  one landlord may "like"(or not) more than the another, for a host of reasons.

I rent as well, and it was a culture shock when I moved here and started looking for an apartment.

There is a culture of manipulation, lying and cheating in China that people in the US can't fathom.
