I am very optimistic about the next few years.We have a president who understands economics for once.

I do suspect some investor interest has waned though due to the current president destroying every market he can. 

Research what happened during the President Carter days in the late 1970s to get an idea of potential inflation and the results.Probably more importantly, and it has already begun, the primary U.S. lender - by buying federal bonds - is already turning to other investments that offer greater security and returns.

I sat with my Dad who retired from Paine Webber( vice president of stock and commodities side ) like you he was doing stocks and real estate before myself and most of the BP crowd( was born).

@Paul Slaght welcome and be careful up there in Junction - if the new president decides to make major military cuts or we get in a new war etc with your proximity to Ft Riley the rentals up there could be cyclical.  

If Republicans keep the Senate (more likely than not, IMO) and Dems hold the House (very likely, IMO) then as usual no matter who wins the Presidency we will see political gridlock, blaming and nonsense from both sides, as usual. 

Unfortunately our governor is more concerned about his legacy than good policy, wanting to have a surplus of funds (should he decide to run for President).
