As long as you're taking proper precautions and monitoring your credit (which you should be doing while investing in real estate anyhow), there is probably not much harm, like David said.

Also if you request it be fixed and don't buy the property, you have now done financial harm to someone else, and if you do you don't know if that person might come burn down your house or something crazy.

If you had found an amazing deal in NC and you needed that money for the down payment, I could see that, but to me, there's no harm in leaving your 401K in place until you have a very specific use for it (like that great deal).

I don’t think he is negitive as much as he believes (much like me) that the Fed etc. helps the wealthy and harms the working or middle class.
