But I've decided that owning and running apartments is one of the few things (if not the only thing) that's ever actually, genuinely sounded both interesting and profitable to me, and I would love to devote my time and energy into starting a company and building it up to something significant.I like the idea of being able to do this in another state as well, but one step at a time.

A genuine learning environment won't push you to call your credit card companies and ask for an increase in your limit, and pass this off as an "exercise" to teach you how to "negotiate".THAT is the type of education that is unsupported on BiggerPockets.

You either need to find them yourself or work with a genuine wholesaler who finds great deals.If your contractor partner has no skin in the game they don't have much incentive to get things done and do them the right way.As enticing as this may sound, the downside is much greater than the upside.I tried partnering with a contractor on a house early on.
