Used Bullseye Primer (2 coats) which got rid of the nicotine stains but, the smell was still there.

If you are doing a flip where the kitchen or bath had to be redone, then Ikea stuff looks nice, and it would sure look better than moldy mousy cabinets and a stained sink.However, on kitchens, unless you need to change the configuration of the cabiets, you can work miracles with paint, new hardware, and new countertops.There are only a couple of times when I will remove existing cabinets, which are: They are in the wrong place.

You'll be able to tell the areas that need replacing when you pull up the carpet and padding because the wood will be deeply stained.

It didn't completely eliminate the issue, but a sanding, and staining, and several coats of polyurethane later and the smell was gone.
