Outside basis should be determined and tracked by you and your CPA.You essentially "step into their shoes" and assume the same inside basis and corresponding depreciation but could elect to step up your basis under Section 754.

Their methods are extremely cautious and this is why they are able to loan millions per month and rarely have deals that go into default.If I was in your shoes, I would also be extremely cautious, and would not set up a loan unless you partner up with an experienced loan broker that knows how to reduce risk.

@Isaiah Cuellar since you're pretty young, if I were in your shoes, I'd be more inclined to build up a portfolio of multiple properties instead of paying off one property fast.The reason being: one property doesn't produce that much cashflow (even if it's paid off).
