Tenant issues are more likely to arise and then you have the owner....many aren't qualified expertise wise or financially to weather the storm.

All I know is that, as CEO of this company, it was really hard watching influencers and 20-somethings race past me, buying dozens or hundreds of units from 2019-2022.

My goal right now is show them a few different options and the financials.

One housing authority wouldn’t even entertain the request, while another was open to it because it was an affordable housing property, requiring just an application for the exemption.From my experience, dealing with government agencies, especially when trying to save money or get financial benefits, can be a slow process.

Prioritize your financial stability.

I would hope there are some other less obvious or “cool” areas that provide better financials (rather than appealing to my emotional - “I love those neighborhoods”).

I understand moving out of your home and occupying a unit in a duplex may be the best financial decision but make sure it’s the best decision for your family because transitioning from a single family house to an apartment with a family of 4 is not always the easiest transition.

Once you have a financial base then invest. 

The factors to consider are your overall objectives, your credit score, DTI and personal financial condition I recommend you find a broker or originator whom you can trust and have them weigh your options.

I am obviously conflicted with the moral side of pursuing legal action here, but understand that people can do untruthful things when it comes to financial gains.
