We REALLY liked Craftsman Front Option B and the Interior is getting closer to what we had in mind.  

But this guy was such a craftsman and so good at managing a project that he was preferable to a larger crew.

Natural wood cabinets weren't commonly used until mid-century so the look may be discordant, especially if you have wide craftsman trim and doors that have have already been painted.

Do craftsman-style units with hardie siding.  1200 sqft house cost me 1,000 (labor) to get the hardie hung.Most contractors aren't accustomed to clients being on a budget and wanting to build rental-grade housing.  

Maybe you will have better luck on the BNI or craftsman book series.
