No special tax treatment that I have ever heard of related to just short term rentals.Yeah I was going to the short term rental committee meetings downtown and the laws they were proposing didn’t look good either so I backed out of purchasing a few properties I had lines up.Now they terminated the short term rental committee that was tasked with writing the new laws as they are letting what is going on at the state legislature level to run its course first.Do you currently own any short term rentals?

I still haven't had a chance to read any of these, honestly, I don't think I will until they pass committee, but did find some other interesting legislation:SB 278 offers an expedited method of exercising the power of sale clause on abandoned properties.

Many times historic preservation committees are only concerned with the exterior appearance of the building, meaning you may not be allowed do things like add onto the structure, use vinyl siding, and you may be limited on the style of doors and windows that can be installed, etc.
