In addition to here, ask close family members, teachers and close friends if they know any hardworking and reputable RE agents.

I got to know a few of these personally, Jimmy Napier was a personal friend, and these teachers were eager to hear about deals I was structuring and often asked if they could use those as examples in the classes/seminars they put on.  

If a lowly paid PE teacher at a parochial school can do this, anyone can!!  

I wish they were alive so I could thank them now for it.I'm grateful to my teachers for the unusually strong research training that was imparted to me in high school and college.

Experience is your best teacher.

Personally, I think there are relatively few "teachers" or "gurus" relative to the size of the investment market in real estate - far less, in my un-scientific opinion, than there are for stocks or other investments.
