Prefer to have no load bearing pillars if we can avoid them without too much more cost.We have soil and elevations from site survey just passed to us by the seller so shouldn't be a problem, but we still have to select our civil (should be by end of the week).As per insulation requirements would we have to ask the county or how would we figure that out?

My recommendation is to avoid the specific areas that require flood insurance, post Hurricane Sandy a lot of the maps were redrawn and some areas now have a higher carrying cost.

HiThis question is for anyone with experience or knowledge in the area of soil testing/geological surveying.I am looking at purchasing a home thats built on the side of a hill where they cutout a notch in the hill to build a home in the 60s.

I want to post the sign on the concrete drive way, my idea is to put a pot with soil on drive way then stick the sing on it.
