Many new home buyers in Denver are recent out of state transplants who often don’t realize or don’t care that many of the fancy new luxury condos in the whole NE side of town were recently built on top of former toxic waste sites, dumps, asphalt plants, slaughterhouses, refineries, smelter plants, and even a primitive raw sewage plant that still festers under a few inches of soil where the bike path now winds along the river (the section where riders gag uncontrollably from the lovely stench of hydrogen cyanide mixed with raw sewage and burning tar).

@Ally H.Instead of digging up the whole root, what I do is just cut down a little below the surface and then drill the top of the plant about 2 inches or so and fill the hole with weed killer.

Let's see, a car maker can build a car that blows up or won't stop and they are allowed to continue building them because the human loss estimated is accepted based on the economic benefits, but the potential of having air borne lead particles from less than a two inch area around a door frame is a greater threat to public safety and is more economically feasible to contain?

One guy on hvac talk said you need 200 sq inches of 1” pleated filter per ton or you should be using MERV 1 fiberglass.
