A good landlord is also not a 'yes' man/woman, a good landlord is able to distinguish between needed repairs and selective repairs and is still able to say 'no' while still keeping the tenant happy by conveying the why.

I got screamed at by a clerk at the local grocery store for bringing in my own bag - which I kept on my arm to simply put my bagged groceries into and I never put it on the conveyer belt.People are stressed and angry and scared.

I'm not convinced that have a partnership agreement with the person who has the option contract conveys equitable interest to the partner, and as such, the partner could get into a lot of trouble for marketing real estate without a license.I'm not an attorney, and certainly don't know the intricacies real estate law, but I'd be very surprised if the partner (the OP in this case) was legally allowed to market the property without a license and without having his name on the option/purchase contract.
