Wow, thanks for the quick replies everyone :) So, what is the downside of upgrading the service and running new wiring but leaving the knob and tube wiring in place in the walls instead of fishing it all out?

I work full time for a Home Health company and enjoy beekeeping, kayak fishing and traveling with my wife.

Go after the big fish that can feed you and whom you can feed.

I'm just fishing for a way to increase my income and my intuition is telling me that REI is it...it's just not completely telling me how.

The more fish in a barrel the quicker you can catch one and if the big one gets away you can snag the next one. :)
