I looked at probably 6 or 7 other houses here in Old Hickory Village before purchasing.

My main focus has been to rent to students and compete with the single apartment complex in the area, Campus Village.

These include North Linden, South of Main, Vassor Village, Woodland Park, MT Vernon, Milo-Grogan, Franklinton, Merrion Village, Hungarian Village, Southern Orchards, Driving Park, Olde Towne East, Franklin Park, King Lincoln, Old Oaks, and Livingston Park.

I really like Tillicum Village as I think the location is central-ish, lot sizes good, prices reasonable. 

Detroit is really interesting right now since there is a ton of activity in certain areas of the City namely Downtown, midtown, Liv/6 district, historic neighborhoods, the villages, et al. 

That being said, I have had some good success in the Cleveland area, specifically the west side, Bay Village, A Class community (surrounding areas do similar returns, WestLake, Lakewood, etc). 

I was planning on focusing on Euclid, South Euclid, Cleveland heights, Parma, mayfield village, willoughby, willowick, Wickliffe, Mentor, Painesville and Fairport harbor.

I hear East Cleveland is a nightmare but wondering if anyone has experience in South Broadway/Slavic Village (44127) or Forest Hills (44108).  

By Uptown I imagine you are speaking of Lemmon/Cole, West Village, Knox Street etc?
