A variation of that theme would be for you to accept less than $350 and pay tax on that boot as Mary said but carry more than just the $650. 

We will be doing theme houses and/or brightening up the interiors a ton on whichever places we choose.

I think the more common theme you'll see from these forums is people interested in financial independence through real estate investing.
