I'm not sure what happened with the furnace but luckily some sort of safety mechanism kicked in to shut the gas off.My concern is that if for some odd reason the furnace malfunctions again (faulty repair, or something else) that she will do the same thing and remove the alarm, not immediately call 911, and go back to sleep with her child in the home.
