I recommend you read some books on how to manage investments well.

Brandon Turner's Rental Property Investing book is an excellent primer to understanding the happy path for purchasing a property - however in this market it really comes down to having bulletproof assumptions on rents/taxes/R&M/etc. as with rates as high as they are/inventory as low as it is, there is less cushion in your returns if you analyze properties with bad assumptions.

Hey Mel, What you are talking about is an MTR, which BiggerPockets has a book on in the bookstore called "30 Day Stay" ;). 1. you can leave it stocked the exact same.

These books have been very enlightening and a pleasure to read.

Time to get serious with the books.

I'm currently reading David Greene's "BRRRR" book and I will be utilizing my VA Loan as a first home purchase (duplex) for my first home utilizing the VA Loan.

I read the actual laws on the books in addition to seeking investor input on this site.    

There is a lot to understand, so pick up a good book. 

The property will need to have a slight rehab to get it up to STR standards, but when complete it should easily be a $200k Gross booking revenue property.
