Hi, I was Just wondering how many canadians own rental properties in the US.

Pallotta is currently working on a Canadian mortgage finance project, but previously worked in the U.S. with distressed collateral and nonconforming securitizations.

We're now looking to invest in the US to get a better cash return as most Canadian markets are pretty high-priced right now.I've been lurking on Bigger Pockets for a while now and the amount of free information and advice on here is almost overwhelming.  

Jordan's first option, wholesaling, is not viable in most Canadian markets due to a variety of factors (size of market, very low {compared to the U.S.A.} delinquency rates, cultural differences w/r to selling houses, etc.}, but could work if you are close enough to The Big Smoke.  

As you Canadians know, Toronto's market is crazy right now, comparable to California and New York.

Not to mention the flood of foreign buyers like Canadians that have shrunk inventory and pushed up prices paid for distressed properties.

How is it and is everything mentioned on BP apply to the Canadian scene in your experience?
