I definitely need to bench my ego and potential hit to my pride and discuss my plans and interests with more people, because as others have pointed out, nobody can help you if they don't know what you need.So, great question.

The liquidity problem can be mitigated if blessed enough to have both the pot and the window. . 

Also I see your point about it being obtrusive, I share the feelings with PTAC units, window units that are internal like a huge box/bench sticking in from the window rather a external window unit.

That way you can unload groceries and put everything in the fridge or pantry while the bags are on the counter by the stove.If you don't want to move the electrical for the stove, put the pantry and fridge on the other side and keep the stove where it is, adding some storage and counter space....always good to have a place for pots and pans and a cooking surface by the stove.

For instance, towns that are mainly Republican cowboy types, or only have one real employer and whether or not it's likely for that employer to stay the duration, or can you handle renting to pot heads in the pot growing areas and deal with potentially really high water bills - you just really need to know and understand the affordable areas and the culture and job market or if it's realistic to expect to rent long-term to retirees, what's the healthcare situation, etc., etc., etc.Now, if you do your homework, and spend hours and hours of time researching and traveling there to get a feel and understand them, and you have the ability to really converse with people who may not be the class you're used to, etc., or maybe they don't speak English very well or at all - then you can probably find that you can make a profit.But, anyone who goes into this business expecting to get rich quick without having to do any work is probably going to fail anyway. 

Also, the income earned from an active trade or business will provide you "earned income" from which you can contribute to your retirement accounts to grow your "tax sheltered money pot".

If you want to turn it into an amenity, you could add picnic benches and barbecue grills.
