Doesn't it make the whole house feel damp?

@Mindy Jensen - we spent less than 10 minutes in the house but had to drive with our windows down for the rest of the day because the smell was embedded in our clothes.  

It's a mixed bag.Pros: easy to work on & locate mechanicals; possibility of expanding living areas; provides ready storage potential.Cons: flooding/dampness/mold/mildew issues; entry potential for rodents/pests.About 2/3 of my houses have basements. 

@Sriram Kumar Bikkina My guess is that your friend may be trying to bring awareness to the fact that crawlspaces can typically create alot of problems particularly moisture intrusion, dampness, mold, etc. and can lead to moisture damage to framing components.

One bonus, though, is since I did them all myself when I wore a younger man's clothes, I know how long they take, can apply an hourly rate, and how much materials cost to estimate a reasonable cost of repair and I also know what a good and a bad job looks like; this all helps tremendously in selecting and managing contractors.

You might want to buy some clothes too, depends on where you are, what the broker requires and what is expected in your line of work.

I consider including utilities in the asking price like including sales tax in the asking price for cloths or other retail items.
