In maps, I usually check satellite and regular view to see what's around the property.

My wife has stories of washing dishes using a large tub, and taking cold showers with water borrowed from our neighbor's hose, during the time our water was off to redo the plumbing!

I tweaked it with addendums for some things like no animals unless specifically approved by LL, no holes in the wall, use 3M attachments, no dishes, etc. can be placed on roof or attached to the building, etc. 

These leases can be up to 30 years and depending on the size of your roof you could secure leases on one rooftop from AT&T, Verizon, TMobile/Sprint, DISH and local regional carriers such as BOOST.

there are plenty of opportunities in the US no doubt.But keep in mind if you get to some of the satellite cities around PDX prices mello out. 

I have been looking in the satellites around major cities in Alberta as the rents are usually very close, and the house price is noticeably less.

For appraisal purposes, an old dish washer is a lot better than an empty hole with wires sticking out.

Instead, ViaSat seems one (or perhaps the only) satellite internet provider and from what I can tell, they have serious data cap rates on their high-speed data (even with their platinum plan)Does anyone have experience with ViaSat (or alternatives) and can provide insight on how viable this is for STR properties (we fortunately plan on cable TV with DIRECTV via AT&T)?

Lights on, blinds open, vacant home, pets removed, beds made, dishes put up and all the other things we want done to sell the house.I have no idea if the appraisal was biased or not, but get 3 appraisers to measure the house and they all come up with different sizes.....pictures or no pictures.
