On the other hand, there's plenty of rivals to the US and perhaps the planet was better off with one philosopher -king (the US) instead of several rivals who may not be anywhere near as benevolent (China, Russia, etc). 

There are incredible restaurants that rival nearby New Orleans and the casinos are clean and safe and top notch. 

I personally think it could rival Craig’s list or FB marketplace as a viable option and for the seller of these property types you can sort of filter the buyers.

Location   Location  Location  And like I said NOT all of CA does that especially those that maybe are not familiar with the state.. there are plenty of very low priced areas in CA that would rival mid west values.. and very little appreciation over the same amount of time.. as you know its a HUGE state 900 miles from top to bottom lot going on there.  

There's already talk of rent riots to rival what happened in the depression (look up what the tenants did when the marshalls came).
