Hi Andy welcome to the forum, For sure I would leverage your background in sales - many people dont have it as a strength and so if you are persuasive, then use it to your advantage in deal generation and negotiation.

As an example, a good lawyer would have to be good at persuasion, research, finding clients, networking, and great vocabulary amongst the other things.There are obvious skills that are valuable in real estate like being “driven” or “resourceful” but I’m thinking in terms of something a bit more tangible.

Or if you had insurance but no LLC then the plaintiff could seize all your assets that were unprotected.The long and short of my essay is that you have to evaluate the level of risk you want to assume on your own and how much you want to offload to insurance.
