To illustrate the other side, the rest of the island (outside of these resort zones) has historically been a place where owners can only do MTR's - 30 day + stays, but new legislation just got passed and it's looking like a minimum 90 day stay will be required.

I live in the San Juan area and agree there are a ton of abandoned properties all over the island. 

PI is a quiet town more geared toward tourism on South Padre Island, but will likely frow due to LPG.There are definitely some opportunities down here in the Rio Grande Valley for people who know how to operate, but one challenge you will encounter will be that it's very hard fine good employees.

If I knew the best way, I would be sipping Mai-Tai's in the Cayman Islands on a stack of cash.Seriously, there are lots of ways and everyone has their way that they like to do things.

The issue with islands is that it means Caribbean.

I'm scarred by old wallpaper, but am thinking more and more of putting peel and stick wallpaper on the back of an island for a quick design change in the kitchen.
