Hi Team,

I'm looking for recommendations on the best established and up-and-coming spots to purchase a turnkey rental or buy land and build from scratch in Central and South America. I have a particular interest in islands, as my long-term goal is to captain a catamaran and offer tours for snorkeling, sunset cruises, etc.

I'm interested in places that offer great ROI without being overly expensive. I'm also open to investing in emerging areas and putting in the effort to develop the property.

Thank you in advance for your time and energy.

So my thoughts would be why not buy a great ROI property in the U.S. that you have more control over and is easier to get to and then visit Central or South America with the profits?

I see a lot of unnecessary risk in investing in another country.

If you still want to do it, I would start off with something on the lower end that is still nice to see how it goes for a couple of years before making a major investment out of country.

I would thoroughly research all expenses such as taxes insurance, permits etc. Will you need a generator backup if there isn't reliable power there?
