The brokerage is not involved when I buy a car, a boat, RV, etc- why would they be involved when I buy a non-listed, house that will most likely not appraise, and not pass inspection?

If you are financing, make sure you don't have anything new appear on your credit report (like a new car....), as the bank will check your credit report one last time right before sending the money to make sure it's still safe to lend to you.

I'm not looking at a car as an investment, not looking at a car as an appreciating asset - I see as an expense (high one at that).  

If a borrower placed a value of $500 on a late model car with no debt, he might also want to save photos of the car as a total write-off wreck, if that is the case.  

I even found out she got herself a new car a few months later!
