Honestly assess yours, including its blemishes. 

This little blemish will likely be overlooked provided its a tiny collection.

I’m planning on doing a dark stain to help hide some blemishes, but the paint is a big issue.

@Adam Craig however if the wood is in bad shape, choose a slightly darker color for the body to hide the "blemishes/imperfections".
