Can someone be allergic to cats such that they can sense when a shaggy carpet that was only 6 months old when they moved in had cats on it?

We don't allow any cats under any circumstances as I'm allergic to them.

I quickly became allergic to undergrads. 

My thinking is that I'm in my 60's and although I have property management experience and am good at it, I would rather not have to deal with repairs in the middle of the night, etc.So, I'd like feedback on this idea:Buy a cheap property, such as an old mobile home on it's own lot (I am allergic to HOAs) for cash.

Or you shouldn't be forced to take someone with a cat if you are allergic.

Tell them you can smell the smoke and you're allergic to it and to please remember the lease says they can't smoke in the unit.You're going to want to end up kicking them out eventually, though, unfortunately. 

All my listings specifically say no cats as I am very allergic and no dangerous breed dogs which are spelled out in my listing due to insurance. 

I am biased against them as I am extremely allergic and to me nothing is worse than walking into a house with cats. 

@Grant Doyle I bet you made the mistake of telling the lender that you were going to do do student housing banks are allergic to short term rentals and student rentals.
