Shingles and siding are really not a big deal, asbestos becomes an issue when particles are released into the air and you inhale them...say for example if you were sanding floor tiles or cutting an old insulated duct with a sawzall. 

My bank also required a mold/particle test since there were definite mold issues pre-rehab. 

It may be more stain resistant in the lighter colors, but you can't put a hot pan right on it like you can granite since it's really just stone particles cast in plastic resin.

The average floor (section) weighted around 10,000lbs or less and the list goes onBut whence getting into it here's what we finally had to do:That's not to mention the caustic and carcinogenic materials and chemicals i.e. formaldehyde and asbestos used in the particle board sub flooring, countertops, insulation and ceiling materials, etc.

Plywood, soft close doors and drawers, etc... for less than I could get the cheap HD or Lowes particle board stuff.

While it's pretty convenient but the cabinets are particle board. 

Wood bath vanities last longer than particle board and are worth the extra expense. 

For such a small job, I didn't care to rent a real texture sprayer, but got great results from the aerosol canned texture.

I don't know why its so hard to find bathroom vanities not made of particle board, especially in smaller sizes.

They were slightly higher than the in stock cabinets at HD and Lowes, but they are built from plywood instead of particle board.
