I have around $50k to invest and looking more into the $30k and under properties in West Bluff or closer to the Zoo.  

Fathers are not allowed in the building, but are free to invite his kid and his friends to go fishing or the zoo or wherever.

That is the question.My husband was the handyman (well we had a work crew, but hubby was the ultimate handyman, perfectionist to an annoying fault...even to this day everything has to be perfect)  I on the other hand, was the Zoo Keeper, oops I mean I took care of the nasty stuff, like tenant complaints, accounting, court scenes, making the tenants comply to their lease agreement.  

We lived in K-zoo for 2 years while my husband did some graduate work. 

It is just south of the Zoo on Sherman Street. 

From there north Fairmount, Parts of Brewerytown, Northern Liberties, Fishtown, parts of Olde Kensington are in high demand and south passyunk east, and west close to the universities but can change drastically heading west or closer to the park/zoo. 

Sometimes you see SFHs or MFHs near downtown, the zoo, ODU and the naval base in the 20-50k range and many are not in terrible shape. 

I can see it now...rich white guy Donald Bren in the late 70's taking his daughter to a zoo...."

We just moved back to our house on the Hillsborough River, across from the Lowry Park Zoo.

@Fred Stevenson East 55th in the area by the zoo would not be a good location but if it is in Raytown that might be better.
