I am so use to working in the other direction, I cannot recall of the US would tax the income in your hands as well (the IRSs approach to world-wide income is a little different than Canada's).If your company is a Canadian holding company, then having the company hold your share of the partnership would see the proceeds taxed in the company's hands (at the highest corporate tax rate) bout would allow the retained earnings to be retained in Canada or repatriated to your hands at your discretion.  

Well then my question if that is the case why not just start wholesaling in the US as a Canadian?

On the other hand, as a Canadian, there are additional overheads (read taxes, bookkeeping, etc.) that make opportunities that seem OK, very marginal when all the costs are included.

Hello fellow Canadian BP members, I am the verge of doing my first real estate deal and I am a bit overwhelmed, so I would like to clarify some of the things.

Fortunately, there are several Canadians present who can help out with questions about financing, regulation and taxation here at home.You might want to read some of @J Scott's posts and see how a misspent youth as a professional poker player can land you in the midst of a flipping business.

The Canadians are buying what I consider garbage for the most part, but those from China are just seeking stability and are more gearing toward the areas near development or in well established markets.
