If you're not going to get a professional to do it, who should have their own wax & buffer, there's no harm in using a hard off-the-shelf product like Mop and Glo that dries hard.

For that I would remove the doors on the cabinet above the stove and make it suitable for a microwave or if that shelf at the end of the kitchen is intended for a microwave you could put some wall cabinets under it for good support then paint to match as the others have said.
