@Liz Boer If you're going to be living in LA during the week and going home on Fridays, AirBNB your LA property if it's close to any of the tourist destinations, depending on the property you can do Friday, Saturday, and Sundays at $200 per day and get you to over $31K to chip into that $50k target.

Torrance isn't a "vacation destination", but it is:-reasonably priced (you can get a 3 bedroom house for $250/night)- close to the beach or well located(West Torrance is less than a mile which is technically closer than some parts of MDR ;) or close to the freeway and 20 minutes from all of the beach cities, MDR, Culver and a little more to SM and DTLA)-clearly regulated and allows for AirBnb (from what I can see MDR and the beach cities make it hard to have an airbnb via disallowing them altogether, not having regulations posted at all which makes it hard to understand what the risks are or requiring owner occupancy)I have a former coworker that cash flows more than $2500 a month in Gardena.

As such they have the best business class milage seats to go to Hong Kong and then connect to any number of Asian destinations.. 80k to 100k miles depending on the flight round trip.. that is a good value those are 5k dollar tickets .. and going the other way I find British has some of the best pricing same thing but British quality has gone WAY down hill over the last decade but we took them to Israel business same thing under 100k miles each.. great way to start your international journey .. then when you marry that with your Hilton or Marriot points we get free hotel.. again HUGE savings when doing this internationally domestic you buy the room to build the points .. anyway that's how we use ours.
