However I walked the property this morning, and I discovered that the conversion of the open-air carport area into an enclosed "spare room" by the property's owner (who is a contractor) did not include pulling of permits. 

Real estate in LA is expensive and we are already renting our spare bedrooms on airbnb.

Our goal is to have the upstairs pretty much wrapped up and one spare bedroom framed, and sheet rocked before the kids show up for the holiday season kickoff (Thanksgiving).

@Shera Linares I would maybe just focus on getting the reno done as much as possible because it seems like what could be taking up most of your spare time.

My thought is to do a mid term rental for traveling nurses in the spare bedroom.

Rent control is starting to spared faster and faster in Maryland!

I'm looking to help local investors/companies in my spare time.

Our area of Cape Coral was thankfully spared from any severe destruction.

Whether it is your primary residence, you're going on vacation, or you have a spare bedroom matters not.
