The market is heating up pretty fast already for Manhattan and Brooklyn, I am sure Queens is not far behind.

I live in Brooklyn New York and because brooklyn market is so expensive Im looking at new Jersey.

I personally don't have anyone to refer to you but I will connect you with a couple really active guys in the RE community here in Brooklyn.

We are torn between being a bit more aggressive investors and having to rent in manhattan/Brooklyn or owning our own townhouse with say three units and having the two extra units support our mortgage payments.At the end of the day, we are just trying to get as far ahead as possible like anyone else. 

Have you considered further out in Brooklyn(the Rockaways, for instance) or Staten Island?

I am a new out of town investor, Brooklyn, and looking for long term investing.
