This will help give you an understand of the local culture, political layout, customs and needs of the people.

Look, there are cultures much older than the USA.

From my personal experience having grown up with parents who have owned real estate in the Bay Area since before I was born and now a landlord in the Bay Area myself, being a "low class" tenant has really nothing to do with your financial status, but rather one's personal ethics, morals, etc...Throughout the years my family has had tenants from all walks of life, from all cultures and financial backgrounds.  

There are agents that won't work certain areas because they don't relate well to people of different cultures, or whatever.

My significant other is Serbian, and like others said, it will go a LONG way if you have someone on your staff is also Serbian, it's only natural that we feel more comfortable with someone who we identify with culturally.

Typically a cultural issue.

You will get above average rent for any spare bedrooms, the money is tax free, and it's a good bit of life experience sharing your home and culture with someone from another country.
