During this time, my wife and I have traveled extensively using Airbnb and similar sites, and thus have that experience, as well.The problem we have consistently observed is an absolute cavalier attitude from the owners - ¨It´s my house, of course I can do whatever I want - and of course you should pay me for it¨ - and this attitude has been at the root of most arguments against Airbnb regulation.

Perhaps because my roots are Colombian I find Colombian real estate more exciting and pleasurable than my investments here in the U.S.

Account Closed I like doing things my way where I have some control over what price, how much rehab and what budget to set and having an oversight of how things work on a grass root level.

A bit of background - I currently live in NYC, but my boyfriend and I are looking to move to Austin, TX within the next year to put down some roots.

If it’s been painted over, I see no point in scrubbing it down as you aren’t going to get to the root of the problem.

Contractors in general are by nature contractors, not businessmen and women which in my opinion is the root of the problem. 

As previously mentioned, we have been known as a banking city and of course that is still strongly rooted here.

So is a furnace, AC, a tenant claiming bankruptcy, a death in you unit, divorced tenants, mechanical weathering of driveway, walkway, water pipes and sewer issues, roots in pipes etc... 

This is the root of the majority of the frustration with covention Lending today.
