The thought is once we mask it off we can make some serious headway with a paint sprayer.

It just adds a layer of complexity. 

Anyone knows any brick layers who specialize in this type of thing?

@Thomas Rutkowski I've read this oversimplified version of how the policy works in theory but we both know it is far more complicated than that with an incredible amount of fees and rules layered onto the policy. 

My situation has many layers so please ask if any points need clarification.

It is 8 mm thick and has a 20 mil wear layer.

I suppose even a 1/4” layer of sound dampening membrane is better than nothing, but why on earth would replacement of the entire subfloor be required?  

There will also be lots of “layering” between carriers where they share the risk which is something that’s been done on the commercial side for a long time now.  

The whole point of setting up my layered corporate structure was for asset protection, so I'd like to use it, if at all possible.

If you've ever had a claim denied by an insurance company (and you will if you do this long enough at scale), you appreciate every layer of protection you can get... and don't want to rely only on your insurance to help when your net worth is at stake.
