We have quartz countertops, bifold aluminum doors (4 large open doors), beautiful new kitchen with crown molding cabinets, waterfall kitchen island, ancient stone wall in our living room, all hardwood floors, etc. they are comparing my house to houses with carpet, old cabinets/kitchen, etc.

It works for us because we didn't want to store things or bring them here,  they care for the ancient dog, we have a home base when we visit the U.S., etc.

I live in an amazing 1840s Greek Revival with a barn AND a carriage house and parking but I can still walk to the subway and I'm a $10 Uber from world class entertainment, and we're 1.5 miles from my wife's dream job.So here we are:I bring in ~$5400/month in wages + ~$800/month in rental income from the pure rental property.

The soffits are rotten with large holes in them, there's an addition on the back that was never completed and basically looks like ancient ruins.
